Frequently Asked Questions
What OS does SDS work on?
SDS currently works on Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003.
How often are scanner modules and audit databases updated?
Module updates appear as soon as SDS gets new functions;
Audit databases are updated daily (we recommend to either update it daily manually, or to switch the Database Background Update on in Options window)
How can I add a module of my own make to SDS?
To develop and add a self-made module you will need VC++,C++ Builder, or Delphi (for a detailed description with examples please see SDK Help file). If you need to develop and add an audit procedure, use BaseSDK.
Where does the information for audit database come from?
All the update information is drawn from: www.securityfocus.org
Why is SDS, though much more advanced than the competing products, costs less?
It's because we, unlike our competitors, aim at creating a product that would be of some real help for system administrators and IT security officers rather than on maximising our profits.
I bought a license for one copy of SDS. Is it possible for me to install in on 2 (or more) PCs?
No, one license is valid for one PC only. To install the program onto another PC, you will have to purchase another license.
